About Our Class

On this page you will find news and photos from Junior and Senior Infants, their teacher Mrs McHale and their SNAs Louisa and Joanne

Our infant classes focus on learning through play, building foundational skills in literacy, numeracy, and social development. We create a warm, nurturing environment where children feel safe to explore and express themselves

School Tour 2026

What a wonderful day Junior and Senior Infants had on their school tour. We travelled to Kilmeedy Social Farm and they day was fantastic from start to finish. We started with a fun bus journey thanks to O'Sheas. We arrived and worked our way through all the different sections of the farm - sensory room, puppy petting, quad train, kitten time, outdoor play, music room, mud kitchen, animal walks, play barn, bike track. It was a jam packed day full of fun and sunshine. It was so lovely to see the children enjoying all that the farm had to offer.

Outside Learning

In the good weather we tried to take some of our learning outside. We used chalk to write our words on the yard. Afterwards we did some free drawings.

Digital Learning

Junior and Senior Infants love to use the Interactive Panel to support our learning. We use games to reinforce our learning in Maths, English, Gaeilge, and lots of other subjects.

Thank you to 3rd and 5th Class Girls

When most of the Senior Room headed to the boys' hurling blitz, 3rd and 5th class girls stayed behind. For playtime they took the Juniors and Seniors outside and organised cooperative games. It was so much fun. Everyone was running a bit too fast to stop for high quality photos!

Lunch Al Fresco!

Junior and Senior Infants took advantage of a warm(ish) day to have lunch outside on our picnic tables. Hopefully when the weather improves we can make further use of our lovely outside spaces.

Easter

Junior and Senior Infants learned about the meaning of Easter this week, and how our modern mass developed from the Last Supper. We also created some bunny masks and some chocolate nests for our mini eggs. What a lovely end to Term 2!

Clay Hearts for Mother's Day

Junior and Senior Infants wanted to show their love for their moms this Mother's Day. They moulded clay hearts and painted them. They worked so hard and were so proud of their creations. Well done everyone.

Valentines Day Art

Love was in the air in Junior and Senior Infants. We constructed baskets in Art, cutting out and sticking them together. We then added some sweet treats to share with our loved ones. Hopefully the treats made it home!

Painting

Lots of fun in Junior and Senior Infants with some painting. Pupils decided what to paint themselves, resulting in some wonderful creativity.

Halloween

We had great fun at Halloween, dressing up and experiencing a variety of traditions. Click on the photos to view.

Fine Motor Skills

Pupils enjoy using pegboards to develop their fine motor skills. This supports their handwriting development.
